Craving a bagel but want to keep your protein intake on point? These High-Protein Bagels are made with Greek yogurt and Nutrasumma’s Unflavored Pea Protein for a chewy, satisfying bite—with no yeast or waiting time required! Perfect for breakfast, post-workout snacks, or building your favorite sandwich the high-protein way.

Ingredients (Makes 4 Bagels):

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 scoop Nutrasumma Unflavored Pea Protein (approx. 10g)

  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (full-fat or low-fat)

  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

  • Optional toppings: sesame seeds, everything bagel seasoning, poppy seeds, sea salt flakes

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven:
    Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease it.

  2. Mix the dry ingredients:
    In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, protein powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  3. Add the Greek yogurt:
    Stir in the Greek yogurt and mix until a shaggy dough forms. Knead the dough with clean hands for 1–2 minutes until it’s smooth and slightly tacky (add a sprinkle of flour if it's too sticky).

  4. Shape the bagels:
    Divide the dough into 4 equal parts. Roll each piece into a log and connect the ends to form a bagel shape. Place onto the prepared baking sheet.

  5. Egg wash and toppings:
    Beat the egg and brush the tops of each bagel. Add any optional toppings now (like sesame or everything seasoning).

  6. Bake:
    Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the bagels feel firm when tapped.

  7. Cool and serve:
    Let cool for at least 10 minutes. Enjoy warm, or slice and toast later! Great with cream cheese, avocado, egg, or your favorite sandwich fillings.
