In addition, we focus on three principles which are important to health and well-being, yet are not adequately addressed by most other supplement manufacturers.
*ABSORPTION - A supplement, like a food product, can nourish us only to the extent that it is absorbed and utilized by the body. At Nutra Summa, we diligently address this point by using the highest absorbable ingredients, and by including key nutrients in our formulas to help our bodies fully utilize everything on the label.
*ALKALIZATION - Science is showing that it is helpful to maintain alkaline reserves in our bodies to protect against damage that can come from excessive acidic waste, and that this is one of the reasons for the beneficial results of a diet high in fruits and vegetables. For this reason, we add a nutrient-rich alkalizing support base to most of our formulas.
*SUPPORT- The human body naturally works to maximize health, and has an amazing capacity to accomplish this, but, due to a variety of factors, sometimes needs support in accomplishing this natural function. While this may seem obvious, the conventional approach to health care seems to suggest the opposite--that our bodies need something artificial to override their natural direction in order for us to be healthy. Even natural products such as vitamin and herb supplements are often designed to work on the body rather than with the body. Early in life, influenced by family members in the health care profession, Dr. Mayur M. Dev witnessed first hand the tremendous impact these medical professionals contributed to helping people live healthier, more productive lives. Inspired by these experiences, Dr. Dev has devoted his life to helping others through the pharmaceutical field.
Seeing countless mishaps and an alarming reliance on traditional prescription medications, Dr. Dev decided to practice and advocate naturopathic (holistic) medicine. Thru due diligence and extensive research, he discovered many well documented patient benefits linked to holistic medicine. While a holistic approach seems like a logical alternative for a multitude of pharmacists, very few focus on this beneficial option for patient care.
Dr. Dev’s passion for his patients overall health and well-being is what makes him a truly unique pharmacist and individual. Sharing his insight of natural therapies with his patients and clientele is not an uncommon occurrence in his daily routine.
Dr. Dev’s professional career as a pharmacist includes working with many nationally known pharmacy chains as well as the prestigious Mayo Clinic Hospital.
Holding a Masters degree in Microbiology and Biochemistry from the University of Florida, Dr. Dev is also a proud graduate of Midwestern University College of Pharmacy, where he earned a Doctorate of Pharmacy enabling him to pursue his passion to help others thru the pharmaceutical field. He is also a member of the Institute of Functional Medicine and The Association of Natural Medicine Pharmacists
